At 28:00 or so they’re speaking about the glorification of stupidity. If you haven’t seen the movie Idiocracy it’s a laugh. More an more like a documentary as the years go by though. Terrifying

A Grays accent is very hard to make listenable, have you any tips for a new podcaster from Grays trying to sound as knowledgeable and eloquent as yourself??

I think we need to stay on the bright side to help humanity in the future, using what recreates life, being part of it. religions, power, superimposition dominate the roof of a pyramid that time has turned into sand. we love what surrounds us, making use of it as a primary necessity, that is, it makes us inmoratali following other forms.

I don't fear death and nor do I believe in God because I need to feel that I am eternal and will not die. I believe in God for I feel God. I come from a scientific background and was not always certain of God's existence, but 18 years ago, while at my computer writing, I had a profoundly moving experience that got me down on my knees and crying of joy. I felt something so incredibly beautiful that transformed me. I did not become religious because of it but I fell in love with God.

Did the great Brand actually succeed in leaving Gervais speechless and stuttering? I love how Russell’s quiet intentional stare makes Ricky reach for more substantial answers after his go-to quips are met with the stare that intentionally and successfully makes one switch gears.

I was raised in a Catholic family and, although I still have faith, I love Ricky's debating. He is honest and is, far too often, taken the wrong way when he attempts to discuss this topic in limited characters on Twitter. I never sense vitriol from Gervais, just a legitimate mind trying to find meaning from the complete opposite side to those of us who use religion to do so.

Damn right, I do fear death even when it seems nonsensical logically. It seems silly to fear nothingness if you cease to exist in that but when you believe in things like heaven, hell or purgatory then it [death] can, quite literally, scare the life out of you. That is the irony I guess 🤦‍♀️😉✌️

Gervais is a staunch Athiest. Yet he fails to realise that his stoic belief in no God, is as baseless and as yet unproven as religion's faith in one.

RICKY, IN THE DOCTRINE OF THE LDS CHURCH, THE PLAN OF SALVATION EXPLAINS YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT GOOD PEOPLE WHO ARE ATHIESTS AND WHERE THEY END UP IN GODS PLAN, THE BOOK OF MORMON FILLS THE GAPS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT AND ANSWERS THESE KIND OF QUESTIONS

If we really loved animals, we would look beyond our human vanity ego animals (dogs and cats), who are not a part of the ecosystem but every bit as destructive to the planet as human overpopulation. For every cat or dog kept alive, wildlife will loose their homes forever or die (cats kill 3 billion birds in the ISA and are the second largest reason the entire class avians are disappearing from the planet), and tens of thousands of animals will die unspeakablely cruel death to feed one dog in its lifetime. These statements need more introspection.

I can see Russell playing the part of a Homeless person acting out the plight of the average derelict. It might net him the Academy Award…if an Academy Award is any measure of self worth? Or is it just more of an award for the people behind the camera that got you there? Wait a minute…didn't Russell play in a remake of Arthur of Dudley Moore fame?

Russell Brand is so much cleverer than Ricky Gervais to the point where I don't think Ricky knows what Russell is talking about sometimes

Bloody Brand – referring to Gervais as a "comedian" time and again. Gervais is one of the finest actors we have.
I love Peter Cooke and John Cleese but it's difficult to imagine either of them taking on a Derek role.
Conversely, Laurence Olivier would have had an easier time delivering a baby than a punchline.
Brand has no idea who he's talking to.

How great is Russel Brand. He is like a wise therapist . At some point he was just directing Ricky to go to places he would not of thought of to examine his own self. I hope Ricky felt better. This is beyond well known people having a chat. This is a journey into life even I feel transformed listening to these two. I now understand Ricky much better and like him for that. Well done Russel , if only we had people like you leading us. So deep and well meaning I may have to watch a few more times.

2 of my favourite celebrities. I really enjoyed this.
The fact that there is good people and bad people and that basis is because of what conscious choices we make to be a better person, can't be put down to nature/science/meaningless instinct. For example mother instinct is not the same as love. You get people that produce children and whether or not they are a good parent isn't because of "mother instinct/science". They have to make a conscious choice in their actions and awareness to do the "right thing" – which confirms my belief in "emotional purpose". I completely agree with everything Ricky says about science but there has to be an emotional purpose, otherwise there is no point in anything existing at all or any point in being a good person or parent.
If there is no such thing as emotional purpose in regards to the meaning of life, then why do we have a conscience and a guilty conscience? By having a conscience and a guilty conscience or empathy, makes the difference between the good and evil in the world.
The fact that you have a heart and the ability to love and feel emotion is all the proof I need of our source. When someone dies and we feel grief afterwards, what is the science behind grief. Science says we protect children because of mother instinct and natural basic needs to create more life. So, if after the life dies, why do we feel grief? Grief doesn't contribute to a instinctual/science based need to create more life. For me It comes back to "emotional purpose". We feel grief because love is more than science can explain. Its something deeper. Science is like the body but conscience and emotions is the soul. 2 separate things working together.
As for not knowing what happens when you die. If we did, we wouldn't be able to make conscience choices.
….. I loved this interview it has given me so much to think about.
