I was just fired by a team of 19 year olds who doxed my old social media accounts calling me a racist. They came in and told me that my political views are not welcome at AMC and I was terminated. They did reassure me im entitled to my first amendment rights but places like Wal Mart might be better employment for "people like me".

actually AMC Theatres and Universal have a new deal:

    1) AMC will show Universal films
    2) 17 days after release Universal can put out on PVOD for premium rental ($20)
    3) AMC will get 10% of Universal's PVOD rental revenue from that movie
    4) Film cannot go to streaming service or regular rental ($3-$6) until after regular 3 month window
    5) Universal can wait longer to put out PVOD on a film by film basis

This is AMC's knee jerk reaction. Either the two companies will come to a compromise or AMC will eat its words and release Universal titles. The alternative is that people will to the theaters that play the movies they want to see, so no matter how you slice the pie AMC has the most to lose. Theaters make more mone off the soda and popcorn you buy than the actual ticket sales. At lest that's the reason they give us for charging us 20 bucks for a pop corn and some. So go ahead AMC make your threats and then eat your words when the other theater chain count their money for movies like Jurassic Park and Fast and Furious.

    Universal's response to AMC's letter:

"Our goal in releasing Trolls: World Tour on PVOD was to deliver entertainment to people who are sheltering at home, while movie theaters and other forms of outside entertainment are unavailable. Based on the enthusiastic response to the film, we believe we made the right move. In fact, given the choice of not releasing Trolls: World Tour, which would not only have prevented consumers from experiencing the movie but also negatively impacted our partners and employees, the decision was clear. Our desire has always been to efficiently deliver entertainment to as wide an audience as possible. We absolutely believe in the theatrical experience and have made no statement to the contrary. As we stated earlier, going forward, we expect to release future films directly to theaters, as well as on PVOD when that distribution outlet makes sense. We look forward to having additional private conversations with our exhibition partners but are disappointed by this seemigly coordinated attempt from AMC and NATO to confuse our position and our actions."

I understand AMC being upset about Universal not consoling them but I feel like cutting Universal off is going way too far. & it sucks bc I only have AMC by me as a theater 😩 hopefully they can work something out before theaters open up

There is no AMC close by me. Heck, the closest movie theater close to me is 20 minutes away and that is just a local owned movie theater. Then the next is 30 minutes away and that is a regal. The farthest is 50 minutes away and that is a drive in movie theater so… I don't care a lot about AMC

Edit; but it is interesting still.
