Asbestos is safe as long as you keep it sealed.

If you travelled on any Australian rail network there is a good chance you have already been infected.
Everything is lined with asbestos from signalling cables 2 brake pads.
The government doesn't give a shit.

My dad died of it 10 years ago.
    It's nothing but a scam.
There are that many people claiming that they've run out of money.
In conclusion it's government sanction murder.

If you have an asbestos home you are going to be up for a lot of money soon.
The councils won't allow you to rent them and laws are going to be introduce that people who own asbestos homes will have to demolish them at their own expense.
And if your home has some external cladding or internal the owners must remove them.

Absolutely economic disaster, nothing but an elaborate scam.

Asbestos are in so many products and places. I believe a free identification and removal system should be fully implemented by government /JD. Even if you're aware can you afford to pay the huge bill to remove it? This is the reality of DIY or dodge jobs.

I have worked with asbestos for last 11 years. Clarification needs to be made between white & blue, they are two very different types one significantly more deadly than the other.

I remember a brake relining business in the Fremantle area had massive amounts of brake lining dust in large open bins around the workshop during the late 80s and early 90s. The Freo winds would have blown it all around that area.

    Thank you Martin.
One surmises that this SA asbestos legal precedent may apply legal duty of care to companies advertising and supplying the public with high alcohol content beverages like spirits which causes cancer and other fatal conditions years after drinking high alcohol content spirits.

I've already made mention below about silicosis. Dust control working with any material is crucial. How many builders spend all day on a drop saw inhaling arsenic treated timber or a host of other chemicals from mdf and the like.

Asbestos is brutal, but it's par for the course in modern construction.

God Martin. I’m so sorry to hear. I talk to Steve and I knew, but I didn’t know what it was. Yes I probably would have done some work like that but now I will not. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. God bless you and your wife. Annie

I have heard rumours that there is asbestos in many building products imported from China – plasterboard etc. Please always take precautions and assume it contains asbestos rather than not.

Good on you Martin for posting this. But you know who I really can't stand, the lawyers for James Hardie who kept people's claims for compensation going and going until the victim died so they would not have to pay out. Google Asbestos Julie .

    1. The guy was a safety officer unaware of asbestos.
    2. It is a variant strain of mesothelioma so rare, that it presents as a leg lump but kills you by testicles.

This hits close to home for me. My own father died of asbestos related plural plaques in his lungs on Halloween back in 2015, after a 2 and a half year battle with cancer. Yes he was awarded compensation, but it does not bring back a life. Please take care folks.

Thanks Martin, Merry Christmas to you and your family, pray for 2021 and dont take the vax 🙂 Johnson and Johnson was found with asbestos in it's baby powder and people trust the making a vax? Wtf is wrong with this world? Greed? James Hardie packed up and went offshore to avoid it's legal obligations, when are people going to hold these assh*les accountable. The system is as corrupt as it gets.

I still see A lot of it in areas and still alot of old asbestos clad houses.
I don't know what the answer is, removing or replacing it would be costly. But I really hope those old places can be replaced or something other than just letting them rot out in the suburbs

In NZ we are to assume that building products may contain asbestos up until the year 2000.

Again and again, governments fail by taking advice from industry experts with conflicts of interest on how to manage risks with products proven to be high risk and deadly many decades earlier.

Asbestos is one of the few things with a lower risk of death than covid 19.
